Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

SaasCut ("we", "us", "our") is a product demo video creation tool available at saascut.app. We help SaaS founders and teams turn their websites into polished product demo videos. If you have any questions about this policy, contact us at hello@saascut.app.

2. What We Collect

• Account information: When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google. We use this solely to identify your account.
• Website URLs: When you paste a URL to generate a scene plan, we process that URL to analyze your product. We do not store raw URLs independently beyond what is needed to generate your plan.
• Screen recordings: Video files you record are uploaded to our secure cloud storage (Supabase / AWS S3) to render your final video. These files are associated with your user account.
• Generated videos and metadata: The finished video, along with scene plan data, company name, tagline, and logo, is stored in our database. By default, all generated videos are publicly viewable — including on the /showcase page — to anyone with the link or browsing the showcase.
• Usage data: We may collect anonymized usage data (pages visited, features used) to improve the product. This does not identify you personally.

3. How We Use Your Data

• To authenticate you and maintain your session.
• To generate your AI scene plan from your website URL.
• To store and render your screen recordings into a final video.
• To display your video on /showcase as a public example of what SaasCut can produce.
• To send transactional emails if needed (e.g., render completion). We do not send marketing emails without your consent.
• To improve and debug the product using aggregated, anonymized analytics.

4. Public Showcase

When you create a video with SaasCut, the resulting video and its associated company name, tagline, and logo are publicly visible on our /showcase page and to anyone with the direct watch link. If you do not want your video to appear publicly, please contact us at hello@saascut.app and we will remove it promptly.

5. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on Supabase (PostgreSQL database hosted on AWS) and AWS S3 via Remotion Lambda. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. We apply role-based access controls so only your account can manage your videos. While we take security seriously, no system is 100% secure — please report any vulnerabilities to hello@saascut.app.

6. Third-Party Services

• Google OAuth: Used for authentication. Governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
• Supabase: Database and file storage. Hosted on AWS.
• Remotion / AWS Lambda: Used to render your final video in the cloud.
• Vercel: Hosts the SaasCut web application.

7. Cookies & Local Storage

We use cookies and browser local storage solely to maintain your login session and remember in-progress work (such as a URL you entered before signing in). We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise any of these rights:

• Email us at hello@saascut.app with the subject line "Data Request".
• We will respond within 30 days.
• We can delete your account, recordings, and generated videos upon request.

9. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it by law.

10. Children's Privacy

SaasCut is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, please contact us and we will delete it immediately.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of SaasCut after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
